Hey all,
I took a chance on a LaserWriter Pro 600 that had been sitting on a shelf
for the last two years. I brought it home, fired it up, and promptly
printed. Everything was ok for the first two days. I had been shutting it
off when not in use, but I decided to leave it on. Now when I print, the
toner does not stick to the paper until I've printed up to 10 bad copies.
It doesn't seem to matter now if I leave it on or shut it off when not in
use, I get the same results. I'm a newbie to LW printers. Does the toner
get dodgy after sitting around that long? Is it possible the fuser unit is
going bad? (Correct me if I am using the wrong term.) This printer was
built circa 1993. It currently has a rebuilt toner cartridge in it. Any
thoughts would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rich
