I just took delivery of a 9.1 GB UltaWide SCA drive I won on ebay. It
came with SCSI 50 pin adapter. It arrived with no documentation for
either the drive or the SCA-SCSI adapter. I've never used this type of
drive before, but didn't think it would present any problems. However,
I can't get any version of Drive Setup to format the drive. OS 9.1's
Drive Setup 2.03 doesn't even see the drive. 1.6.2 and 1.7.3 recognize
the drive but won't mount it; and both quit with hardware error messages
before completing initialization. Is there anything I need to know
about the process that is different from the usual...?
PCPro 210, OEM Adaptec 2930 SCSI controller, OS 9.1 on 2 GB SCSI 2
connected to internal SCSI bus.
