The surest sign is six PCI slots. Also, the 9600 has 12 RAM slots, the
8600 only eight.

Another indicator that someone installed a 9600 board into that case.
The 8600 has four VRAM slots for onboard video, but the 9600 uses a PCI
graphics accelerator card. Looks like you scored a gem! Many of us
would give our eyeteeth for a 9600, and it looks like you stumbled onto
one in disguise. Please don't tell us how much you paid for it - I'm
already green with envy.
