This is not really a Mac question, but can someone help? Just
installed Photoshop 6.0. Had no problems with 5.0. Couldn't scan,
freezes and application crashes. Bought new memory (went from 128 MB
to 384). Bought a new hard drive (60 GB) and partitioned 4 GB for
dedicated PS scratch disk (disk also holds PS application). Couldn't
use SoftRaid with larger partition because old drive is only 4 GB and
I used 2 GB of that for mirrored partition to protect system
software. Still having PS crashes with memory as reason given. Upped
memory in Get Info really high. Was able to do one scan. Didn't like
it. Got rid of picture (closed, didn't save) and went to rescan.
Application crashed. Any ideas? I know getting rid of picture and
doing anything still uses some part of distant memory, but the
picture was not that big, maybe 11 MB. It was only 2 inches wide and
about an inch high, so even at high resolution scan, it doesn't take
up that much memory. Any ideas? Thanks for any help. I really need
this for work (I work at home, no office alternatives for scanning or
anything else).
