Sorry Ray here tiz
In Windows:
Start-> Settings -> Printers
I find there: Add Printer
Mac Printer (inkjet)
Mac Printer (postScript)
I added my Epson 740 en set it to the default printer.
Whe you are in VPC you have to use Mac setting? Most of the time?
[VIRTUAL pc] Don't get carried away and play at Win-ce
All this on a 9600 G3 400
Maximum Ram settings (virtual =128 Mb)
Vram maximum (4Mb)
And riding amazingly safely on 9.1
I installed VPC twice BTW because Windows depressed me too much..
--- 1st time lots of things did not work properly. I couldn't get the Drive
expanded (and ran out of space which is useless because you don't have any
use of software besides Win98 ) Mind you it still told me that drive
expansion couldn't be implemented but it did it all the same. (filling a 3G
C&D=1Gb&2Gb)
Then my Epson 740 which I used on the USB port (Mac PCI Card) didn't respond
at all. So I reconnected the serial (Printer) port and set it to that on
Mac now it works flawlessly. The USB port kept dissappearing before too now
it is there and stays there but I don't use it for anything Windowe just
VP/Mac
Maybe if you do what I did and Uninstall/Reinstall VPC3 something may not
have 'stuck' properly
I don't know anything about 9.2 I have downloaded it but there are so many
reports of software that will not work with it that I decided to be content
with what I have for a while and WORK=do : )
I even have my Palm 100 recognized but again NOT on USB but on Serial. AND
it is slow. From VPC its better to start from the computer because Hsync
(or Mac) will respond when the Palmtop gave up.
I wouldn't know how to uninstall W98 (allthough I borrowed my son's 98 and
use that to add things) or install Win95 (I just did everything by the book)
AND that is something that would scare me to death TBH!
I don't realy 'DO' Windows just use it to have a look at my Artstuff done on
Mac to see if a PC will 'see' it and how.... I am on a Win Network/LAN
no one but me has a Macintosh here silly people!
( I know all the bad language and frustration that comes with Windowz
..ehehehe I make the coffee :)
I am extremely happy with my 9600 it's as as steady as a rock and all PCI
slots taken too. No space for more HD's either 544Mb would take another 256
So far everything was real plug and play and not their plug and :"***&^%
Sorry HAD to air that.
They waste soooooo much time trying to make it work.......! (and 'they' are
the professionals btw -> IT business)
So my specs:9600/233 ;XLR8/mach carrier G3/400 ;544Mb Voodoo5500/64
;IXMicro 3D ;USB2--> 4; Ethernetcard;Adaptec Scsicard/SonnetATA66. Booting
from Sonnet ATM (scsi epson scanner/Iomega zip/Yamaha cdrw/4Mb HD)(3 IDE
Hd's) USB-->cardreader/belkin mac video adapter/
Kazaa ? Dunno what that stands for sorry
Anyway I hope this will help a bit.
