Thankyou for your suggestions reagrding my OS problem that I posted yesterday. I now seem to have some sort of stability back in the system after 'clean instaling' twice and throwing out all extraneous stuff. Fortunately all I keep on the hd is applications, and use zip for files. These I back up regularly to other zip discs, and then back all of them up onto CD every few weeks... in addition to doing a retrospect full hd backup every 3 months. Anyway, I think I will have to replace the HD.... thanks again.... this is a great list
