PowerMac 6500/275 creation studio w/Sonnet Crescendo L2/63

I'm wondering if anyone on the list has some tips for me. I'm an expat
american working and living in France and have just put in the upgrade. to
my chagrin I have learned that my old avid cinema will not run on a G3 and I
am wondering if the old ATI rage card does as well.
If I want to run video input/output should I:
1) use a backup hard drive and run the "old" system as it was before and
keep the G3 functions for the daily stuff....
2) Change the ATI card for something more robust, perhaps put in a
firewire/USB card and buy a newer video program to go with the new card; if
so, are there any tried and true solutions for someone in my shoes...
3) duhhhhh........   Buy a used iMac for the video stuff;
4) arghhhhhh..... try to do the same thing on my Dell Inspiron PIII...?

thanks for your thots....
Chuck in France

any thots out there?
