Either program is fine for what you want to do. If you plan to import photos, logos, illustrations, etc., create/alter them in appropriate programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, etc. Then save them as .eps or .tif files and bring them into Quark. Be consistent in your color modes, e.g. if your newsletter is black and 2 Pantone colors, make sure the graphics are set up that way in their native programs and you do the same in Quark. Commercial printing does not use RGB mode. It's either CMYK or spot color. You need to decide this before you set up your files. Also, save your pictures at least 300 dpi resolution. I'm not absolutely certain of this, but when printing from laser printers, you can use RGB mode. Once your doc is finished, send the Quark file, all fonts used, and all related graphics files to the printer. Include a proof that you've printed off an ink-jet or laser printer.
