USB is terribly slow. 6Mbps, where SCSI is 50Mbps. Your 6500 has a SCSI port
already. You can find a SCSI zip drive relatively cheaply nowadays, since most
newer Mac owners opt for Firewire drives. The other option would be to get a FW
drive and FW PCI card, but that would be more expensive. Just avoid USB for a
burner is my advice. I recently bought a SCSI CDRW 6x4x16 for $60. You might
want to subscribe to the LEM swap list, or check eBay. If you need further
advice, or help in locating a drive contact me offlist.
