You need some software to run the burner...like Toast.  If you buy a burner new,
it will most likely include a "light" version of Toast or another burning prog
so that you can use your burner as is.  If you buy a burner on eBay, the seller
may not include the software, and then you have to go buy a copy of Toast, which
runs around $100.  IMHO Toast Titanium is the best burning software on the
market.
