CD-RWs fail too eventually. There is a limit to the times the laser
sensitive dye can be reset to zeros before it begins to break down due
to heat and harsh light exposure that occurs during blanking/writing.
Also CD-RWs are prone to strong laser light and heating by other
sources. There is no such thing as a totally infalable media, solid
state or disk based.
