I had an epson that did that ( sorry, cant remember the model no) and was told that it is a probelm with print heads getting blocked. In my cas it was more expensive to get them replaced - and believe me I tried everything I could think of to get them clean - than to buy a new printer. Although I was very happy with the quality of the print and pix from the epson, I will not buy one again because the heads are expensive to replace. Tim R
