i was getting the same thing on my 7300/180, i had to unplug the HD from the internal SCSI chain, and start from a cd (norton's or the system cd) once it got to the desktop i replugged in the HD and used norton to probe the scsi chain, my HD was somehow corrupt, i ran diskdocotor to no avail and then restarted (hdd connected this time) from the system cd, after sitting there for over 20 minutes it came up with the 'this disk is unreadable do you wish to initaialize?' i did and everything is runnin fine now
