Susan,

I have done some of what you suggest, by extracting the two Firewire
extensions (v 2.8.4 I believe) from the 9.2.1 installer tome and running
them with OS 9.1 very successfully. I figure that any improvements that
they make in those extensions, I want. I think the last standalone Firewire
extension installer offered by Apple is v 2.5.

Using this logic (maybe good, maybe bad, YMMV), USB might be a logical
candidate if that is important to you without the full 9.2.2 installer
baggage. Good luck.

So would I...

Would it be a bad idea to cannibalize just PARTS of 9.2.2, such as the
carbonlib, and possibly the USB adapter support install? (<---I am running
9.1 versions of it which is not working so hot w/ my new pci card for usb)
I was hoping maybe a more savvy release of it might work better.

Any thoughts?>>>
