Hello Everyone- Question: I have a PPC 7600/120 with an XLR8 G3/333 upgrade and 256 MB of RAM running OS 9.1. When I try to run the 9.2.1 the installer tells me it cannot install on my machine and to consult the SimpleText doc in the installer folder. I looked at all the documentation that came with the download, and it just referred to needing to have a G3 or better, which this machine has. Did I just misread it and they are referring to an actual G3 computer as opposed to the processor type and speed? Anyway I can "trick" the installer into allowing it to install?
Tried the standard troubleshooting tricks: booting with no extensions, booting with Mac 9.1 extensions only, rebuilding the desktop, zapping the PRAM; booted using the OS 9 CDROM---all without any luck. Does anyone else have any ideas? Or am I just stuck with 9.1? Thanks, Troy -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
