One drive that I bought a few years ago came with
two fairly heavy metal brackets (to be screwed onto
the sides of the drive that raised it about an inch
and a half and allowed it to slide onto the runners
as usual (this was for the lower bay of a 7600
which has quite a big space). These brackets must be
available somewhere, maybe someone here knows?

As for the power plug, you can add a 6" extension
if you want--I see this in the catalog for cyberguys.com
item #113-0278, for $1.27.
