Oops seems you have a mixture of OS 7 and OS 8.6, did you install OS 8.6 over OS
7?
If so do a clean install of OS 8.6. OS 8.6 is completely different from OS 7 and
most of it's extensions and control panels are incompatible with OS 8.6 f.e. the
ObjectSupportLib from OS 7 causes heavy crashes on OS 8.6. I suggest you do a
clean install of OS 8.6.

There are newer versions of all apps available which clear a lot of bugs, IE is at
5.1.4, Netscape at 4.79 and 6.2. Eudora at 5.x I think.

YES, the Remote Access control panel is what used to be the PPP control panel. The
Remote Access Client is a little app in the Apple menu which you can use to
connect and disconnect. You use the Remote Access control panel to fill in your
ISP phone number, login and password.

No, do a clean install of OS 8.6. Then go to the websites of the apps you use and
see if there are updates available for use with OS 8.6 and up.
There are also some Apple updates needed to be installed after the installation of
OS 8.6 such as the Font Manager update. You can find updates at
http://www.versiontracker.com and Apple updates at http://asu.info.apple.com (on
the next page click on the new link). You can also search for specific things at
Apple's knowledgebase at http://kbase.info.apple.com.

HTH,
Marc
