Hello, knowledgeable ones. I drop in an out of this list, having found you(p) as a very helpful resource to managing my machine, and enjoying the list flow and meander very much.
I have a PTP 225 w/ g3 upgrade. I have added a Sonnet ATA 100 pci card, w/ a 100 gb Western Digital drive. 3 equal partitions. OS 9.1 I also have Disk Warrior and Tech Tool Pro. My problem is this ATA drive has disappeared from my desktop on three occasions now. Always of course able to boot from the 3gb scsi drive, OS 8.6 The first time, I reinitialized the drive, repartitioned. Then reloaded all software and files. The second time, I did a disk rebuild with Disk Warrior, and remounted the drive, with FWB mounter. It seemed to be related to having Sherlock index the drive, and having Tech Tool Pro do it's automatic scans. I'm wondering about conflicts b/w Tech Tool Pro and Disk Warrior? Now, two of the partitions (no OS on either) from the 100gb drive are visible on the desktop, and the drive that 9.1 on is missing. I don't know where to go from here, and do not want to repeat bad moves. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'd like this to stop. The drive btw had been quite stable for months, and now all this has happened in the past 4 weeks. tia, Marsha -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
