You CANNOT legally download 8.6, it is not a free upgrade. your best
bet would be ebay or maybe someone on this list has a legit copy they
will sell you.
I am not aware of any 3rd party utils for the Mac that let you change
partition sizes 'on the fly', if you can buy or borrow a second drive,
then you can copy everything off both partitions and run 'Drive setup'
and re-partition your drives that way.
I have heard other list members say that you can use USB with 8.5x by
installing the USB extensions from Apple, hopefully someone else will
come back with details of this.
