BECAUSE the onboard video is special on the 6500, and made for Apple by ATI, I
have settled on and installed a second ATI card, a 4-meg ATI Mach64 card called a
GA.
The power usage is very low, so the fan has stopped making a loud screaming sound
like it did with the 3dfx Voodoo card.
I have also in the past on different occasions had a pair of 4-meg ATI Rage and
Rage II+ xClaim cards, but not at the same time, and I had a 8-Meg ixMicro Twin
Turbo 128M8 in it for a while and a 16 Meg Voodoo3 2000 in it for a while. I go
through a lot of PCI stuff around here.
I have heard on the 6400 Zone website that a 64-meg Voodoo5 5500 will fit into a
6500 if done carefully....and I will have one in a few days for my Genesis.
