Hello, I recently bought a 9600 604e 350 mhz processor card for my originally-233 mhz 604e 9600 machine. This 604e card is from a 9600 and I bought it as a backup for my computer even as I normally use a zif carrier card with processor.
The card does not work. There are no bootup chimes. And the logic board has a new battery. The company is trying to claim that their card is simply incompatible with my machine. They make reference to the original processor speed of my computer as well as the mother board from their part-out machine as being 50 mhz. I know my board will go this fast and have tried several other 604e cards of varying speeds that are lower than 233 mtz--and they all worked fine. Is there any possibility that these guys are right about incompatibility--or are they just leading me down the merry path?
