Correct.

The Mach5 8600 and 9600 machines, 300 to 350 MHz, employ 604ev processors, 
have an on card 1 MB cache and a use a specially designed, on card power 
regulator.

These cards are not compatible with anything other than a Mach5 motherboard.

OTOH, third party cards have been made which work in both Mach5 and non-Mach5 
motherboards, although some require a special switch or jumper setting for 
compatibility with Mach5 motherboards.

The non-Mach5 motherboards (7500, ... 9600) employ 604 or 604e processors 
that top out at significantly under 300 MHz, expect an on-motherboard cache, 
and use a conventional, on card voltage regulator.
