Hi, your problems sound to me like bad or no termination, most common SCSI voodoo issues you'll stumble on, I guess.
One single drive very often gets away with no termination, but as soon as you add other drives/SCSI peripherals to the same bus, things get more messy. Make sure you have a terminated internal bus, via an internal terminator or by setting the right jumpers on the drive as "termination on" and you should be all right. BTW, my personal preference is to use an internal terminator, but YMMV. Otherwise just to be sure it isn't something related to the OS not loading up the drivers properly, I'd zap the PRAM and rebuild the desktop of both drives, as well as choosing a startup drive in the relevant Control Panel. All this won't hurt your machine and will be working as a sping cleaning for your system anyway. Remeber to go through all the control panels you have custom settings for as zapping the PRAM resets everything to factory defaults. (One of the most annoying ones is the HD cache, which is usually set at a too low value in OSes prior to OS 8.6 or 9, can't remember) HTH Cheers Andrea > Message-Id: > <a05010401b8f7a60353c6@[206.108.252.153]> > Date: Thu, 2 May 2002 22:38:24 -0400 > From: Christopher Gleeson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Subject: Re: 2nd Hard Drive fails to mount on Power > ON Startup > > Albert wrote: > > >On my 7600/G3 when I boot up via Power ON , from > the keyboard, the second > >drive located in the lower bay does not mount.
