I've read that a standard ATX form factor power supply just plugs in and
works. Can any one verify this information?

1) There are nearly as many "ATX form factors" as there are ATX power supply
manufacturers; there is no standard for an ATX power supply besides the
motherboard power connector itself; not even the line input power connectors
are standardized, and

2) In order to accommodate an "ATX form factor power supply", one would only
have to select the appropriate jumper on the Beige G3 motherboard, and then
plug in the ATX power supply; this will provide functional power to the G3,
but the power supply might not properly fit the G3's case; as the power
supply provides all the cooling for the G3, it is imperitave that a proper
fit is achieved.
