To save money, consider a G3/400MHz. There is a negligible  difference in
*noticeable* speed 'tween a 400 and a 500. But the price difference is usually
very noticeable.
The best upgrade boards are from XLR8 brand.
2nd best:  Powerlogix.
3rd best: Sonnet.

They can be FPM or EDO.
