I wouldn't put it beyond the guys (and gals?) at XLR8 to push the 
limits, even without the larger multiplier.  We're talking about the 
folks who figured out how to put a G3 in the L2 cache slot of a 
TAM/4400/etc.  You're right though, it's not worth holding one's 
breath over...

The G4, however, is far from the end of its life.  You never know 
exactly what we might see there.  Perhaps an upgrade ZIF with 
on-board L2 and L3?  The XLR8 Carrier remains a good bargain should 
you one day want two processors, more on-board cache, or 
what-have-you.  It's always good to have that kind of growing space.

Then again, I'm quite happy with 200Mhz; I will enjoy the boost to 
500Mhz when it comes to encoding, but anything beyond that would just 
be a waste methinks.
