G3s come in 512 KB and 1 MB second level cache sizes.

Most control panels give you the option of utilizing the motherboard's cache 
... if that cache is larger than the G3 card's second level cache.

It is best to remove the motherboard's cache.

About the only time it would be appropriate to utilize the motherboard's 
cache would be if the G3 card's second level cache was defective ... but in 
that specific case, the control panel installer will likely refuse to 
recognize the G3 card at all.
