You can also d/l the latest official QuickTime, version 5.0.2 from http://www.apple.com/quicktime which installs a newer version of the SoundManager. If you're handy with TomeViewer you could extract the SoundManager extension from the 9.0.4 update tome, but since you already had problems with this version I would recommend against this unless you manually installed an older version.
