Someone (I can't remember who as I have lost the original email; sorry) asked me about the mother board in my FrankenMac. I opened it up over the weekend, and I found this stenciled on the mother board:
Apple Computer, Inc. � 1996 820-0865-A I believe this is the part number, but cannot be more specific, as I received the computer with this mother board. Can anybody tell me more about this particular mother board? Further info: 8500/9600 Mother Board/xlr8G3/300Mhz/1.5GB RAM/18GB HD/OS 9.1/Adaptec SCSI card/USB-Firewire card/ATI Xclaim 128/Jazz drive built-in/Zip drive outboard With the exception of the original 128 MB RAM DIMM, all the RAM is 128 MB DIMM sticks from Velocity Upgrades. I'm also about to add a Voodoo 5 card which I recently found on eBay. I've been using this computer primarily for games, but with the addition of a larger monitor (hopefully, next month!)
