OS8 will never run on a Classic, as it officially requires a 68040 and will run on a 68030, but never a 68000. 7.6 won't run on it either. I don't know why you'd want to, either, what with it maxing out at 4 megs of RAM. After 7.6 you'd not have much memory left for anything. Best bet is to stick with OS 6 or 7.1.
