I've been following this thread with great interest, because I have a similar problem
with a P.T.Pro. The computer had never given us any trouble until about two months
ago. It had been off for several hours when suddenly, without any intervention, the
gong sounds, and this thing is booting on it's own. (Almost had a c.f. moment, as I
was by myself and listening to Art Bell at the time. :-) ). I turned it off and it
booted on it's own sometime later that night.

The periods between boots became shorter over a two week period. At one time it would
reboot regularly every ten minutes. Now, it comes back on, immediately, every time it
is turned off.

All the good advice has already been tried such as unplugging the k.b. and mouse,
checking extension groups, energy saver, etc. I'm beginning to suspect that the adb
bus circuit breaker is tripping and resetting every time it is turned off. What do you
all think?
