Hi all, Anybody here have bad experiences with Western Digital HDs besides me? (IDE)
My 20 gig 5400 RPM drive just died after only 8 months of service in a 6400 doing very light duty. 8 months? that's Bull****. It fell over dead, D.O.A. Confirmed by Drive Set Up, Norton, Disk First Aid, TechTool, and every other diagnostic I could bring to bear. Won't initialize, won't mount, Just lays there like a drunk dinosaur. Pisses me off. It was only $80.00 bucks but I was wanting *at least* a year. I just bought a 40 gig Maxtor tonight for the same money from Worst Buy. Tell me I made a better choice. Seems to work fine.
