where will I find the auto-purge at? I was thinking about putting os x on the 8600 (w/ xlr8 G4 350 zif carrier card, 512 mb ram)
but if I can hold off til I get a bigger HD that would be great. what kind of scsi HD can I use for this machine. I was told it took a 50 pin connect, but I see a lot of 80 pin scsi drives that are bigger and cheaper. now I know I can get a card that makes a 80 into a 50. but what kind of 80 pin should I get for this 8600? they through lots of terms like sca, ultra wide, and scsi 2, but I'm not to knowlegable of these terms. OR. do you think it would be better to get an ATA card and go IDE? since they are cheap and every where? I found a 50 gig ultra wide for $60 a factory referb. but I can get new 80 gig for around $100 at compusa. which would be better for music they were both 7200 rpm but I'm under the impression tha scsi is faster and etter for music apps? scotto > [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > > now before the the crash I had about 2 gigs free on the > > HD but after the crash I had 3 MB so I deleted some more > > stuff and had it up to about 1.5 gigs and turned it off > > and rebooted and my HD was down to 100 mb????? > > Scotto, are you perhaps using Mac OS 9.0 till 9.0.4?
