Today I decided to install OS X on both of my DT G-3's. Installation on machine #1 went well. Machine #2 is a different story. Although OS X (CD) went through it's normal check of things without a hitch, when it asked which drive it was to be installed on my internal 20 GB drive wasn't even a choice! It remained dim, as did the CD Rom drive reading the OS X. Out of curiosity I grabbed an external 9 GB drive (external) and connected it up and tried to run X once again. Well, this time the only drive for software to be installed on was the ext. one! Just to see what would happen I went ahead and gave the command to install on the ext. drive. Installation was going just fine till the last 3 minutes when I received (all across the top of my monitor) the following: Panic (cpu 0) thread_invoke:preemtion level 0 backtrace:0x0008bb44 0x00029f00....(several more groups of number I won't list) waiting for remote debugger connection Options....type Continue...'c' Reboot...'r' Continuing panic: we are hanging...
I have both a firewire card and a USB card installed. Could either one of these be causing problems? Any and all suggestions would be appreciated!
