I was playing around with Invisible File app, and found lots of invisible files, many from Norton. I have already removed Norton, but there are all of these invisible Norton files still there ! Could they perhaps be the cause of strange quirks ?
Quite often when I try to do something (pull down menu, open app, close app, open partition, etc.) a small box appears asking me to insert such and such disk (one of my partitions). Obviously I cannot insert a partition, as it is already installed ! The only way that I can get rid of the error box is to press Command/Period many times, only to watch the box appear again, press Command/Period many times, and this continues to go on, until the computer freezes. Then must turn off machine, and reboot. Sometimes Command/Period works, just like Force Quit. Force Quit will not work though, it always freezes the computer. I even reformatted the 6GB HD, and did both Low Level and Zero Level format, but these error boxes still keep asking me to insert one or more of the three partitions (the empty HD !). There is nothing on those 3 partitions ! Why would a box appear asking me to insert those partitions ? I'm wondering if I delete the Norton invisible files, might that solve this problem ? : - ) - Vern Andrews - - - - - Oregon Trail Descendant < mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > ~~~ < mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Andrews Research & Education ~~ http://www.angelfire.com/ca2/VernAndrews/ http://members.fortunecity.com/vernandrews/indexresearch01.html -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
