As usual that depends on what you want to use them for and how upgradeable
they are.  They have a solid reputation much like the 8500 though.

 A friend of mine just got a B&W but he used the above Power Tower
Pro for years and has filled our town and even U.S. golf courses with the
fruits
of his Adobe Illustrator work.

Some upgrade possibilities have ended and what remains may be short lived
 but I can't recall exactly how.
Lowend has all the poop and you could briefly join the clone list there too.

Dark screen is probably battery - but you'd know that.
