I would not put much stock in the Tech Tool phantom memory thing. I have a 9600 with 6 32 MB Dimms and 6 128 MB Dimms, but TechTool 3 claims one set of banks has a 3712 sized DIMM! Always the same bank even if I move the modules around. Two things I would suggest, let TT finish, but also download Gauge Pro from Newer Technology <http://www. newertech.com/> and try it's memory tester. On my 9600 it found a problem that was fixed by adjusting the timing on my G3 just a little, that TT didn't detect. What Gauge Pro does is to write in one fell swoop the entire block of memory with changing data, then read it back. This would be similar to what is happening during data transfers, when you have your problem. The other thing would try and pick-up a genuine Apple CPU module or a low-end G3. Sometimes you can have clone CPUs work in Apple products, and sometimes not.
