"I suspect that he means the old pre-Superdrive DVD-RAM, which is a
recordable, data-only DVD-like format, versus the DVD-RW CD-RW drive
they offer now; dropping the DVI port in favor of the current ADC
proprietary one. As for the DP stuff, I've no clue, afaik
dual-processor-aware apps work in OS9, at least the few I know of do."

Well put, except for the last part. What I meant is early G4's cannot be
upgraded with a dual processor card because of a change in OS 9.1 and
higher.
None of the companies like Sonnet and PowerLogix have offered a solution to
this problem yet.
My DVD-RAM cannot write DVD-R which is beginning to cost me now that DVD-R
media are getting cheaper.
If I want to use my DVI flat panel wih a new computer in the future I have
to get an expensive adapter.
Of course all of this is OT on this list. Somehow I had to vent my
frustration.

Jan.

BTW, does anybody know a way to get the right formatting when posting using
the CompuServe 3 software? I find the current look of my posts a little
embarassing.
