Robert asked: >What is interleaving, how do I do it, and what exactly does it do for me? >I've seen it on the specs pages of LEM, but I don't know what it is?
Hi Robert, A friend explained it to me this way: Interleaving: the RAM slots in most PCI Power Macs (including your 9500 and my 8600) are in 2 banks: the 'A' bank and the 'B' bank. Slots in each bank are numbered 1-4. Interleaving means you install matched pair of RAM sticks in the same# slot in each bank. Right now I have 32MB of RAM in the 8600, a 16MB stick in A1 and B1. Get it? It's just how the computer reads the memory. It's faster for the computer to use the memory in matched slots, is all. _____________________ Feel free to edit anyone :-) Terry -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
