Did you put the "high Speed" script into the Modem Scripts Folder
in your System Folder Extensions Folder?

Open the OT/PPP control Panel and go through your options
as relate to its automatic disconnect if idle for so many minutes.

Do you mean the browser "quits"?
"Shut off", "shut down" are hardware terms.

Before loading your browser, single click the main browser application icon
(not the alias).  Go to "Get Info" and allocate more memory to the program
(application).  Which browser and version; which OS?

I have no trouble having allocating double the suggested memory for IE 5.

A start anyway :-)
