OS 9.1 has a few nice features like File Sharing over the internet, Multiple User cdev, Voice Recognition log-in, (I think), theoretically better MP recognition and System 9 is the first system to load the AlteVec enabler libraries if you have a G4 card in your old PCI Mac.....which is highly unlikely, isn't it ??? System 9.1 requires 55 Megs of RAM on my Mac, with 1.5 of gigs RAM installed, and you only have 112 Megs. I updated my old MP 800+ Daystar Genesis from OS 8.5.1 to System 9.1 YESTERDAY because I picked up a 800 Mhz Sonnet G4 card late last week to replace the four 200 Mhz 604e processors that were in it. Otherwise I would stick with OS 8.5.1........which I liked even better than OS8.6 for PCI Macs that shipped with System 7.6 or 7.6.1. M -- Jesus is coming.
