The simple answer: No. The longer answer: The problem with the older power supplies, (up to the 8100 series) was in the power connectors and output voltages to the motherboard. The newer (8500 and on) require a 2 connector style power supply and need a 3.3v DC source. (There are various pin outs for the 2 connectors, but they can be modified to interchange.) The older power supplies used a single connector and lacked the 3.3v DC source, making them non interchangeable with the newer units.
