If the problem is crosslinked files then the thing to do is to delete 
the two files in question and then run your disk utilities again. 
The drive isn't damaged, it's just that there is some corruption in 
the data that links a file together.  If the file in question is 
important you may be out of luck.  At least one and possibly both 
files are munged.
