If the Barracuda is a 1/2 height drive (and I think it is) it will not fit in
the bay where your orginal HD was located.
It will fit in the lower bay. It is a tight fit and the bay is not well
ventilated.
I have read Barracuda's run hot and thus would be concerned about heat. I
have a 1/3 height 9.1 GB Seagate 7200 rpm Medalist in the lower bay of my
7500. With the addition of a somewhat weak fan it runs 8-10 F below max temp
(122 F).
Of course you could put the drive in an external box with adequate cooling
and still use it for your main drive.
