I have installed a Western Digital 40 GB Hard Drive (Internal EIDE, 5400
RPM) into my PM 6500/G3, 128MB RAM. I experienced no troubles while using
Drive Setup during the install. All three partitions mount on the desktop.
Hopefully, I have set up these partitions correctly. Partition #1 (17 GB)
runs OS 8.6 HFS+ which is (more often than not) compatible with all of my
software. #2 (19.5 GB) has OS 9.1 HFS+ on it. How compatible it will be
remains to be seen. #3 (650 MB) HFS is does not yet have a system folder on
it. My recurring problem is that during any Quicktime, version 4 or 6,
install attempts, a couple error messages appear, "The disk with your
preferred destination folder is currently locked. error -44," or "This
installation requires a system folder on the destination drive. The
installation has been cancelled. 1008:1, -43." So, if my hard disk is
locked, how do I unlock it? And why won't the QT installer recognize my
obviously present, OS 8.6 System Folder? Any ideas where I may have gone
wrong, or if that is too daunting, how can I fix this mutha?

Thanks loads, Steve
