Yes.

And is the controller bootable?

According to Sonnet it is.

I'd love to

Yeah, I'm looking *really* hard at it right now. It's also making me 
think about getting a 8/9500 or 600 so I could hang several drives in 
there, and implement a RAID under OSX.
