Looking for advice re. a good Mac to upgrade.
Due to an accident with an 8500, I'm in the "backward" position of having
the upgrade parts before having the Mac to upgrade.

I have the following:
- Apple G3/300/512k ZIF processor
- XLR8 ZIF Carrier
- 4 x 128MB banks
- Voodoo 3 3000 PCI
- OS 9.x

I've got a line on a 7300 for $130 and a 7500 for a little less, though I'm
hoping to bargain down to around $100 (I'm not in the US, unfortunately used
PCI Mac prices are still high).

There are other options too, though the best bets seem to be the
7300-7500-7600 class.

Any suggestions? Things to avoid? Potential problems?

The upgraded Powermac will be used to run 9.x, connect "legacy" SCSI and
serial peripherals, surf the web, get email, act as a print server on our
small home network (serial laserwriter), do some backups to an external SCSI
CD-R, and maybe for the kids to play the odd game (I got a good deal on the
Voodoo card).

Thanks for any help.

Chris H
