John,
Plug and unplug the Connector. (of whatever type) about a dozen
times. If it still does not work get some electronic contact cleaner and
thoroughly spray all pins and holes. You might have to repeat it several
time . Ventilate the area for safety.
Also wiggle the cable ( if there is one ) to see if any wires have
frayed and lost continuity.
