Hello List,
I am having no success using compact flash card readers (or
readers/writers) on my machines. All systems are 9.1 and I read that
that Mac OS'es after 8.5 have usb mass storage drivers included in
the extensions suite.
I originally _was_ happily using a Feiya single slot
reader/writer. When I first bought it, it seemed I had to download
some driver updates from Apple --even though I was using Mac OS 9.1
(which is supposed to have all that good stuff)-- to get it to work.
Everything was fine, until I did a clean install on another disk
for my main system. I thought the CF CR died, so I bought another
one. It didn't work. I tried switching back to my old system to no
avail. I bought a third unit, Memorex, and that didn't even work.
Now, I am going to do a clean install of OS 9 on a separate hard
drive, and see what happens. If this works, I'll upgrade the system
to 9.1
Incidentally, I have downloaded drivers from various of these
vendors, but they either do not work; the installer says that they
are not needed and doesn't install them or the installer says that it
Cannot Run On This Machine >;^p !
Help.
