Hi Steve, Sorry for the misleading terminology. I simply meant, in the way that some programs seem to be tempermental when in conjunction with the whole package (setup) of extensions and programs (some 3rd party) that one has chosen for their computer - also factoring in are the auto functions like, Auto Update, Sherlock Indexing, and whatever other auto-scan- file- save, type utilities (for better or worse) that one has preferentially chosen. Then there's the hard RAM/virtual memory story; IIRC NN 4.08 didn't respond favorably to virtual memory - but that may have had more to do with my scarcity of real RAM at the time. I have 416 MB now. For instance, After Dark worked well for me but whenever I was into SuperPaint 3.5 and AD kicked in, my tool palettes would disappear once back into the program. Clicking "hide tools" would bring them back and then the "hide tool" option in the menu would right itself. >A CD re-install? One thing I do differently than most is to only accept >cookies from the originating site. I do NOT accept all cookies. I have a stack of CD's with Netscape 4.5, 4.08 for 68k and IE 5 on them, given me by my ISP. The Cookie preference I use in IE 5 is "ask for each site". If on a previous visit you chose to 'accept' you aren't asked at the next visit. Cheers, Terry -- PCI-PowerMacs is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
